5 Protective Styles To Try This Winter

5 Protective Styles To Try This Winter

Protective styling is a great way to retain length and give your hair a break. They are especially helpful to wear during the winter to retain moisture and help protect your hair from the dry, cold air.

So, without further ado, here are five protective styles you can try at home.

Boho Box Braids

A cool twist on a classic hairstyle. These are also known as goddess braids. Zoe Kravitz helped bring the hairstyle into mainstream culture and contributed to the popularity of this type of box braid. The process of Boho Box braids isn’t much different than any other variation of the style! The only difference is that instead of braiding all the way down, these braids are typically left with the last 3-5 inches of hair unbraided. You can add embellishments like hair beads, jewels, and rings to complete the style.

Butterfly Locs

Butterfly locs are a newish style! They are a messy bohemian look to faux locs. Most of the time these locs stop at your shoulders, which helps them keep their cute and chunky look.

Mini Twist

You don't always have to add hair to try a protective style. Mini Twist are an effective protective style you can do with your own hair.

Pop Smoke Inspired Braids

The look is inspired by the late rapper. It gives you a different look with feed-in braids to give you a gorgeous hairstyle! All you have to do is cornrow your entire head. Make a part in the middle and make equal partings down the sides of your head to achieve this look.

Three Strand Braid

This is a quick and easy style to try! You can choose to do this style in a high ponytail or a low ponytail. All you need to do is put your hair into a bun, add the extra hair, and braid it.
