5 Signs Your Hair Needs A Trim

5 Signs Your Hair Needs A Trim

While, there is no exact time frame on when you should trim your ends (everyone is different), there are signs that your hair gives you that signals it is time for a trim. In this blog post, we’ll explore 5 signs of when your hair may need a trim.

SHEDDING

Hair shedding is normal but excessive shedding is not. You typically shed about 50-100 hair strands a day. Anything more than that is considered excessive. Excessive shedding could be a sign your hair needs a trim.

SINGLE STRAND KNOTS

Single strand knots are more commonly known as fairy knots. They occur when a single strand of hair tangles upon itself creating a knot. We call them fairy knots because people jokingly say they are so small only a fairy could have tied them. Single strands knots make it difficult to detangle your hair and cause breakage. To make your life easier, the best thing to do is trim your hair!

TANGLES

Tangles go hand in hand with single strand knots. Split ends and single strand knots causes hair strands to catch on one another causing tangles. Tangles lead to breakage, and no one likes that. The best way to avoid and prevent tangles is to trim away those split ends.

DRY HAIR

Dry hair can lead to brittleness. Brittle hair leads to breakage and split ends. Because the ends of our hair are the oldest, they are often the driest. The best way to get rid of your dry, brittle split ends is to get a trim. To prevent dryness follow up with a hydrating moisturizer and seal your ends. We recommend using our Grow Stimulating Hair Oil to moisturize and seal your ends.

THE ENDS OF YOUR HAIR LOOK THIN

Does your hair look thin at the ends? It could be a sign you need a trim. Your hair may be see through because your ends are lifeless and stringy. It could be because of heat damage or everyday manipulation of your hair. The best thing to do at this point is to cut your losses and trim those lifeless ends away.
